Synopsis
Continues the story of Bleach
Ichigo Kurosaki's mundane high school life is abruptly upended when a Hollow, a soul-devouring spirit, launches an attack on his family. Amidst the chaos, he meets Rukia Kuchiki, a Shinigami who sustains injuries while defending Ichigo's kin. Driven by a desire to protect his loved ones, Ichigo accepts Rukia's powers and transforms into a Shinigami himself. With Rukia incapacitated, Ichigo assumes the perilous duty of purging the Hollows that plague their town. He is soon aided by his friends and classmates—Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryuu Ishida—who each contribute their own distinct abilities to the fight. As Ichigo and his allies navigate their new roles, striving to balance combat with daily existence, he learns that Hollows represent merely the initial wave of dangers threatening the human world.

As a Substitute Soul Reaper, Ichigo Kurosaki routinely combats Hollows, the malevolent spirits endangering Karakura Town. He maintains this peace alongside his trusted allies: Orihime Inoue, a childhood friend possessing healing abilities; Yasutora Sado, a classmate with immense strength; and Uryuu Ishida, a Quincy who serves as Ichigo's rival. This status quo is abruptly disrupted by the appearance of Asguiaro Ebern, a formidable Arrancar signaling the return of Yhwach, the ancient Quincy leader. Yhwach seeks to reignite the centuries-old war between Soul Reapers and Quincies, intending to wipe out both the human world and the Soul Society completely. Launching simultaneous attacks on the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, the domain of Hollows and Arrancars, Yhwach forces Ichigo and his companions to unite with former friends and enemies alike. Together, they must halt Yhwach's destructive agenda to prevent the total annihilation of the world.
