Katori, Batsu'unsai
Summary
Batsu'unsai Katori was a female Shinigami with black hair and gray eyes, standing at 5'8". Serving as the first captain of the 8th Division over 1,000 years ago, she was one of the original leaders of the Gotei 13 and possessed immense spiritual energy. This power was evident during the first invasion of Soul Society, where she effortlessly overcame and slew numerous Quincy warriors. Katori demonstrated exceptional skill with her polearm Shikai, using it to dismember and bifurcate soldiers of the Lichtreich with great precision. Yhwach described her as infamous for being a brutal, merciless, and cold-blooded killer, a reputation earned by her massacre of the invading Quincy forces. While the name, sealed form, abilities, and Shikai command of her Zanpakuto remain unknown, its scabbard is golden. Her Shikai manifests as a long naginata featuring a white double-edged blade, a golden shaft with ridges at both ends and a rubber grip-like texture, and a large golden tassel tied in a three-loop knot at the hilt. Her Bankai has not been revealed.
