Summary
Äs Nödt serves as a Quincy and holds the designation of Stern Ritter "F" within the Wandenreich. This entity possesses long, dark hair and dark eyes distinguished by visibly light pupils. Its attire consists of a modified version of the standard Stern Ritter uniform, featuring the order’s signature hooded cloak, a knee-length trench coat, and black boots. Äs also wears a dark mask that covers the lower half of its face, which is adorned with five spikes running down the center, later reduced to four. During the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, Äs and the other Stern Ritter received orders from the Wandenreich Leader to gather at the Gate of the Sun before traveling to Seireitei to participate in the conquest of Soul Society. Upon arrival, they created pillars of blue flame and engaged the Shinigami in battle. Äs indiscriminately massacred numerous lower-ranking Shinigami who proved unable to inflict injury. The entity was eventually intercepted by Lieutenant Renji Abarai, whom it effortlessly blocked with its bare hands until the fight was interrupted by the arrival of another Stern Ritter and Captain Byakuya Kuchiki. After Byakuya severely cut Äs’ hand, the entity was berated by an ally for allowing its Blut to be broken so easily. When the comrade was subsequently disabled, Byakuya unleashed his Bankai, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, only for the attack to be stolen by Äs’ unnamed device. Despite considerable attack strength, the true power of Äs’s "arrows" lies in their ability to induce limitless fear rather than their offensive capability. A single wound is sufficient to inspire deep-seated fear in victims, causing them to doubt everything and lose control of all rational thought. While this shock typically results in instantaneous death due to the heart’s inability to bear such intensity, an individual’s experience and willpower can allow for some resistance. Nevertheless, Äs remains confident that all victims will eventually succumb to the fear.
