Continues the story of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Separation
Following a devastating ambush by the Quincy King Yhwach and his army, the Soul Society's reapers are left to recover and grieve their losses. Surviving Soul Reaper captains undergo intense training to master combat without their Bankai, their most powerful technique. In the previous assault, Ichigo Kurosaki barely managed to help restrain Yhwach's overwhelming strength. To ultimately defeat his godlike foe and save his comrades, Ichigo must now endure grueling training that tests his physical, emotional, and mental limits. Even with the advantage in this prolonged conflict, Yhwach further weakens the Soul Society by recruiting Uryuu Ishida, Ichigo's close friend and rival, as his heir. Determined to annihilate his ancient enemies completely, Yhwach launches another attack on the beleaguered Soul Society. While Ichigo works to gain new power, the Soul Reaper captains fight for survival and precious time.

After facing off against Ichibei Hyousube, the leader of the Soul Society's Royal Guard, Yhwach pushes forward with the last stage of his ambitious plan. His goal is to eliminate the Soul King, whose presence maintains the equilibrium between Hueco Mundo, the Soul Society, and the human world, where Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies come from. Despite ongoing battles with the remaining Royal Guard, Uryuu Ishida sides with Yhwach, aiming to reshape the world according to Yhwach's vision. With renewed determination and augmented powers, Ichigo races to prevent Yhwach from accomplishing his ultimate aim and safeguarding lives across the three interconnected worlds. Yet, Ichigo's mixed lineage leaves him susceptible to Yhwach's sinister sway. In a last-ditch effort, Jirou Sakuranosuke Shunsui Kyouraku, now the newly appointed captain-commander of the Soul Society's military division, reaches out to a past adversary whose immense power might turn the tide of the war.
