Summary
Zennosuke Kurumadani is a Shinigami distinguished by his afro, appearing almost exclusively in the series' omake chapters. He temporarily replaces Rukia Kuchiki in the duty of guarding Karakura Town from hollows following her execution sentence. His time in Karakura proves highly irritating, as hollows are often eliminated by main characters before he arrives, and an unusually high number of townsfolk can see him. When he complains to Soul Society about this, he is dismissed and instructed not to interfere with the spiritually aware residents. He stays in Karakura after Ichigo’s return, with his final appearance warning the Karakura-Rizer team about an approaching Arrancar. Although his division is unspecified in the manga, the game Bleach: Soul Carnival classifies him as a member of the 13th Division to fulfill a specific bonus requirement. His Shikai, released with the command "Good Morning" (ohayō), manifests as a chakram with a wooden handle embedded in the blade, a form shown only in the anime. Its special ability allows him to slam the ground to create earth spikes capable of impaling enemies.
