Summary
Rin Tsubokura is a Shinigami who looks remarkably like Hanatarou Yamada, the 7th Seat of the 4th Division. He typically displays an expression of distress or worry and features a small pigtail in the front of his hair. As a researcher for the Shinigami Research and Development Institute, he has a deep love for candy and sweets. Although he can be clumsy, as seen when he fell into a bowl of unbreakable sweets during the Shinigami Golden Cup arc, he is eager to help, such as when he assisted an earth-bound soul in baking a cake for his mother despite Yumichika Ayasegawa’s protests. While the Colorful Bootleg book confirmed he is male, all Viz English translations refer to him as female. His obsession with sweets causes significant trouble in the DS game Dark Souls, eventually leading to a Mod Soul named Kai taking his form. He is often assigned to simple missions, such as delivering Ikkaku’s molars, during which he stepped on them and left a note reading, "These molars are invisible for Idiots."
