Summary

Hanatarou Yamada serves as the Seventh Seat of the Fourth Division and leads the Fourteenth Advanced Relief Team, with a brief stint as a convenience store clerk during the anime adaptation. Born on April 1, he stands at 153 cm and weighs 45 kg. Characterized by extreme timidity and nervousness, he has long black hair with bangs that frame his face. His clumsy demeanor and gullibility often make him a target for bullies and practical jokes. Despite appearing weak, he demonstrates genuine courage and dedication to his beliefs when the situation demands it. His Zanpakutou, Hisagomaru, possesses the unique ability to heal rather than harm anything it cuts. The damage it absorbs accumulates as a red meter along the blade's length. Once this meter is full, Hisagomaru releases the stored energy as a destructive beam capable of killing even a Menos Grande, after which the sword shrinks into a scalpel.
