Summary
Ryuunosuke Yuki serves as a Shinigami, taking over the duty of guarding the Karakura Town area from Zennosuke Kurumadani. He is the younger brother of Rikichi Yuuki. Visually, Ryuunosuke features dark hair adorned with three circular clips on each side and wears the standard Shinigami Shihakusho. His personality is defined by timidity and softness, traits that become apparent when he becomes nervous and easily frightened by the appearance of four large Hollows. During the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, on the day he was scheduled to assume his post, a sleep-deprived Ryuunosuke arrived late and was reprimanded by Zennosuke. He explained that his lack of sleep stemmed from anxiety regarding his new assignment. After Shino greeted him and urged him to prepare, Ryuunosuke confessed his fear of the high Hollow activity in the area. Shino scolded his cowardly attitude, questioning why he did not stand with pride. The interaction turned physical when he made a remark about her flat chest, resulting in him being hit. Later that evening, Zennosuke transported Ryuunosuke and Shino to the Human World, offering words of encouragement before departing. Despite his reluctance, Ryuunosuke agreed to split up with Shino. He soon encountered a Hollow and fled, calling for help. Upon finding Shino, he discovered she was being held captive by a massive Hollow. Summoning his courage, Ryuunosuke drew his sword to rescue her but was swiftly attacked and left badly injured on the ground. He was subsequently saved by Ichigo Kurosaki, who defeated the Hollow and introduced himself. Ryuunosuke awoke in Ichigo’s room, where he was informed he was free to leave. Orihime arrived, pleased to see him awake, while Ryuunosuke sat confused amidst Ichigo and his friends bickering. He eventually screamed in realization upon recognizing Ichigo as the man he had met the previous day. Ichigo noted his slowness, correcting him that he had been unconscious for a full day. Ryuunosuke recalled the rapid defeat of the Hollows, expressing shock that they were disposed of so quickly despite hearing of Ichigo’s strength. Ichigo gave him bread and instructed him to enter his Gigai. When Shino arrived, Ryuunosuke was happy to see her, though the two immediately began bickering. They then witnessed Ivan Azgiaro appear in the room, only for Ichigo to promptly kick him out the window, leaving Ryuunosuke wondering about the intruder's identity.
