Summary

Momo Hinamori is a petite shinigami standing at 151 cm, born on June 3 with a weight of 41 kg. She has black hair styled in a bun wrapped with cloth and dark brown eyes. Known for her upbeat and easygoing nature, she gets along with nearly everyone, though her trusting and impulsive personality often leads to naivety. She deeply admires her former captain, Sōsuke Aizen, having become a shinigami specifically to serve under him, and refuses to believe he intentionally betrayed Soul Society. Her appearance is considered fairly ordinary compared to other shinigami in Soul Society. According to mangaka Tite Kubo, her name was changed at the last minute from a different one used during the sketch stage. Hinamori grew up in Junrinan, District 1 of Rukongai, alongside Tōshirō Hitsugaya. While young Hitsugaya was bratty and insisted on protecting her, Hinamori found him amusing and treated him like a younger brother, earning the nickname Shiro-chan from him as they became close friends. During her time at the shinigami academy, she excelled at kidō and befriended Kira and Renji, who later became her fellow lieutenants. The trio was assigned to the 5th Division of the Gotei 13 under Captain Aizen and Lieutenant Gin Ichimaru. Although Kira and Renji transferred to other Divisions, Hinamori remained in the 5th Division, working hard to become the lieutenant as noted by Hitsugaya. Her zanpakutō is named Tobiume, which translates to flying plum tree. The weapon functions as a kido type, with its shikai command being snap. In this form, Tobiume resembles a rod with branches and acts as a focus for her spiritual power. This allows her to concentrate her energy into bursts capable of cratering floors and breaching walls, or compress it into massive energy spheres that she can toss from the blade's tip.
