Entetsu Kumoi was the inaugural captain of the 9th Division, serving over a millennium ago as one of the founding leaders of the Gotei 13. Possessing immense spiritual energy, he demonstrated his power by effortlessly overcoming and slaying numerous Quincy warriors during the first invasion of Soul Society. Entetsu was renowned for his formidable physical strength, capable of completely crushing a Quincy's body with a single two-handed strike using his Shikai. According to Yhwach, he was infamous as a brutal and cold-blooded killer, a reputation earned through his massacre of the Quincy from the Lichtreich upon their initial incursion into Soul Society. While the specific name, sealed form, and release command of Entetsu's Zanpakuto remain unknown, its scabbard is blue. His Shikai manifests as a thin kanabo featuring a long, dark blue rod studded with rings, a round silver tsuba, and a blue handle. His Bankai has not been revealed, and no voice actor has been assigned to this character.
