Summary
Zommari Leroux is a tall, dark-skinned Arrancar with a contemplative demeanor who remained largely silent until his clash with Byakuya. His chin bears triangular tattoos, and the remnants of his hollow mask manifest as bony spikes along his head, skull-shaped earrings, and a skeletal necklace. He appears shortly after Aaroniero Arruruerie’s death, attempting to kill Aaroniero’s murderer, Kuchiki Rukia, before being interrupted by Kuchiki Byakuya. During their battle, after releasing his zanpakutō, Zommari hijacks Rukia’s body to fight Byakuya. Byakuya counters this with his bankai, leaving Zommari barely alive and forced to beg for mercy. Before his execution, Zommari condemns shinigami for their arrogance in judging hollows, but Byakuya states he fought only because Zommari threatened his pride and kills him with a single strike. Zommari dies cursing Aizen. His sonído is the fastest among the Espada, creating up to five afterimages and earning the name Gemelos Sonído. His zanpakutō, Brujería, looks like a standard katana but features a spiked disk guard. It is released with the command "suppress," covering his body in fifty open eyes and replacing his legs with a pumpkin-like structure of faces. Zommari can control one object per eye, an effect he calls amor, marked by a sun-shaped symbol and pupil dilation. While he can control limbs individually, targeting the head allows full bodily control. The release also forms a defensive sphere capable of barely withstanding Byakuya’s bankai, though it disables many of his eyes.
