Naruto Still Rules: Tops TV Tokyo’s Q1 Anime Sales Chart

Even without a new weekly episode, the Hidden Leaf is still printing money. In first-quarter figures for the fiscal year ending March 2027 (April–June 2026), TV Tokyo Holdings ranked its anime titles by sales—and Naruto sat firmly at No. 1, with spin-off Boruto in second place. Long-running staples Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon followed, while Black Clover rounded out the top five as it gears up for more TV.

The result underscores how licensing, games, and merch keep the franchise humming long after the original run. The company is already building toward the anime’s 25th anniversary in 2027, expanding across games, goods, overseas theme areas, stage shows, music events, kabuki, and a new card game. Crossovers with titles like Fortnite and PUBG, plus a France theme-park zone that opened in 2026, show how far the IP still travels.

TV Tokyo is pairing that evergreen catalog with fresh on-air heat: BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War’s final cour launched in July after global theatrical previews, and Black Clover Season 2 is locked for the October 2026 cour. Stable cash from Naruto and Boruto, plus new seasons of other flagships, is the clear dual strategy—old legends fund the next wave of shinobi-scale launches.
