Red River Confirms Fall Cour With Saitō as Ramses and Horie as Juda

Tatsunoko Production is not letting Chie Shinohara's palace saga bow out with summer. The currently airing Red River will roll straight into a second cour on September 29 on NTV's AnichU block, and the official site used that handoff to name the two voices who pull the story toward Egypt.
Sōma Saitō is taking User Ramses, the freewheeling commander of Egypt's army and the man who becomes Prince Kail's fiercest rival. Shun Horie voices Juda Haspaslupi, the Hittite Empire's sixth prince: Empress Nakia's son, a longtime admirer of Kail, and a boy already uneasy about his mother's plotting. Their arrival is the clearest sign yet that the first cour's court intrigue is about to crash into a neighboring superpower.
Saitō said Ramses' light, hard-to-pin-down manner is what sold him on the part. Horie went further, recalling that he has been a Shinohara reader since elementary school, after he found copies of the manga his mother had tucked away for herself. Getting to play Juda, he admitted, still feels unreal.
Mirai Tachibana and Wataru Kato remain Yuri and Kail under director Kōsuke Kobayashi in the 24-episode run. A Blu-ray BOX is also on the calendar, with the first volume due December 9 and the second on April 14, 2027.
