Continues the story of Pokémon: Black & White: Adventures in Unova
Following the Isshu League Higaki Tournament, Satoshi and his companions journey to the newly discovered White Ruins, a site linked to the legendary Pokémon Reshiram and first uncovered by Professor Araragi's father. At the ruins, they meet N, a mysterious young man who claims he can understand Pokémon speech. As they explore, Satoshi's group becomes caught up in the sinister activities of Team Plasma, who are conducting cruel experiments on Pokémon. In a shocking turn, due to the schemes of the enigmatic scientist Achroma, even Pikachu and Kibago show hostility toward Satoshi and his friends. What is Team Plasma's leader Ghetsis's true goal, especially given his statement that the organization has been searching for N? Amid this turmoil, the familiar faces of Team Rocket reappear in the Isshu Region, their current mission putting them directly against Team Plasma. How will these forces collide?

In the well-known Kalos region, Satoshi and Pikachu arrive in the busy Lumiose City, continuing their goal of catching Pokémon and becoming a top trainer. While exploring, Satoshi encounters Citron, a clever inventor, and his sister Eureka, and engages them in a Pokémon battle. However, their meeting is interrupted when Team Rocket, who have tailed Satoshi to Kalos, cause a Gaburias to rampage through the city streets. In the quiet town of Vaniville, a young girl named Serena practices Sihorn riding with her mother, a professional Sihorn racer. After practice, Serena learns about events in Miare City from a TV broadcast and spots a boy from her past, which ignites a wish to meet him again. Driven by this desire, Serena sets out on a journey to Miare City. As the story progresses, Pokémon XY follows Satoshi's effort to earn gym badges, Citron's attempt to learn from Satoshi, and Serena's search to find her own true path. While traveling across Kalos, they make new friends, encounter new rivals, and foil Team Rocket's plans, while also uncovering secrets related to mega evolution.
