Summary

Piplup is a light-blue, penguin-like Pokémon covered in thick down for cold insulation. It features a dark blue head with a mostly white face and a short yellow beak. Dark blue feathers extend down its back and around its neck, creating the appearance of a cape. Two white ovals mark its chest, while a small light-blue crown-like shape sits above its beak. It has flipper-like arms and three-toed yellow feet. Piplup possesses a strong sense of self-pride, making it difficult for it to accept food from humans or bond with caretakers. Despite poor walking abilities that cause frequent falls, it puffs out its chest after tumbling. However, it is a skilled swimmer capable of diving for over ten minutes to hunt and has been shown flying short distances in the animated series. While it typically lives along the seashores of colder climates, it has recently been observed residing in the Terarium of Blueberry Academy. Regarding its evolution, Piplup evolves into Prinplup, which then evolves into Empoleon.
