Fushigidane

Summary

Bulbasaur is a petite, four-legged amphibian Pokémon featuring blue-green skin marked by darker patches. Its face is characterized by red eyes with white pupils, pointed ear-like projections atop its head, and a short, blunt snout housing a wide mouth with visible small, pointed teeth in the upper jaw. Its thick legs terminate in three sharp claws. A distinctive green plant bulb rests on its back, hiding two slender, vine-like appendages that sprouted from a seed implanted at birth. This bulb serves a dual purpose: it enables photosynthesis for energy and houses nutrient-rich seeds. Often observed napping in bright sunlight, Bulbasaur can endure days without food. While native to the grasslands and forests of the Kanto region, it is rarely found in the wild today due to its role as a starter Pokémon, with most individuals being owned by Trainers. Recent sightings have placed Bulbasaur within the Terarium of Blueberry Academy. Raised by Pokémon Breeders for distribution to new Trainers, these human-raised specimens are considered rare and well-behaved. Bulbasaur exhibits extreme loyalty, even toward trainers who abandoned it long ago. It displays a nurturing nature toward weaker Pokémon, such as gently rocking crying Pokémon with its vines while singing a "Bulba-by." The bulb flashes blue when evolution is imminent; however, if Bulbasaur resists, it struggles against the transformation. Annually, many Bulbasaur gather in a hidden Kanto garden for an evolution ceremony led by a Venusaur to become Ivysaur. Its vines are strong enough to pull it up to tree branches to reach Berries. According to Pokémon Sleep, Bulbasaur remains still and basks in sunny spots while sleeping, likely absorbing nutrients from its seed to facilitate growth. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur, which subsequently evolves into Venusaur.
