In "Pokémon 3: The Movie," Mii Snowdon is left alone after her father vanishes while investigating the mysterious alphabet-shaped Pokémon called Unown. The only clue to his disappearance is a box containing strange tiles. When Mii plays with the tiles and wishes to see her father again, the Unown awaken and summon the legendary lion-like Pokémon Entei to act as her father. Satoshi heads to Greenfield with his Pokémon companion Pikachu to reunite with his friends Kasumi and Takeshi. Upon arrival, they find the town covered in crystal, a phenomenon caused by the Unown. It becomes their mission to defeat the Unown and restore Greenfield to normal. The stakes rise when Entei abducts Satoshi's mother. To uncover the reason for her abduction, Satoshi and his friends, along with their Pokémon, embark on a journey through the crystal-encased terrain to confront Entei and the Unown.
