Togepi

Summary

Togepi is a diminutive, light-yellow Pokémon with a rounded, egg-shaped physique. Upon hatching, its body remains enclosed within a shell that features a white base adorned with rounded, mostly unfilled shapes bordered in either red or blue. Protruding from this shell are stubby, cone-like arms and round, two-toed feet. Its face displays thin, black oval eyes flanked by black arcs, while its head is crowned with five round-tipped conical spikes. Brown pads cover the soles of its feet. In the Pokémon the Series episode The Case of the K-9 Caper! (EP054), Togepi demonstrates the ability to retract into its shell for sleep, a behavior also noted in Pokémon Sleep, where it is known to roll while resting. This creature can siphon positive energy from others, storing happiness within its shell to release to those in need. Early TCG cards suggest it can emit poison from its head spikes to repel foes. Characterized by a joyful disposition, Togepi is believed to share its happiness with its caretakers, earning it a reputation as a harbinger of good luck, particularly if a Trainer can rouse a sleeping one. Its innocent smile is said to soothe the soul. However, the Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl episode Where No Togepi Has Gone Before! (DP142) reveals it can occasionally act maliciously, causing chaos for its enemies. In the Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire episode A Togepi Mirage! (AG045), it is shown capable of flight or levitation despite having no wings. Togepi originates from the Togepi Paradise, appearing to humans to spread kindness. Though rare in the wild and commonly found in forests, they eventually return to their paradise after completing their mission. Togepi evolves into Togetic, which subsequently evolves into Togekiss.
