Pichu

Summary

Pichu is a diminutive, ground-dwelling rodent Pokémon characterized by its pale yellow fur. Its ear-tips, collar, and tail are distinctively black and angular, while its pink cheek pouches serve to store small amounts of electricity. The creature features a tiny nose resembling a dot and is classified as a quadruped, though it possesses the ability to walk easily on its hind legs. Known for a social nature, Pichu exhibits a playful and mischievous demeanor, typically found in groups. It often touches tails with other Pichu as a display of courage, an action that generates a shower of sparks capable of making them cry. The species is inept at storing electricity, meaning it may discharge its energy if amused, startled, or shocked, though it cannot discharge unless shocked itself. Charging up occurs more readily during dry weather or when thunderclouds are present. The crackling of static electricity produced by Pichu is audible, and while it can zap an adult human, it often surprises itself if it does so. Pichu primarily inhabits forests but has also been observed thriving in urban environments. According to Pokémon Sleep, Pichu discharges uncontrollable electricity while sleeping due to its inability to store electricity properly, with the crackle of static electricity audible during this state. Pichu possesses an alternate form known as Spiky-eared Pichu. This variant is female-only and features three spikes on the tip of its ear, otherwise appearing identical to standard Pichu. In terms of evolution, Pichu evolves into Pikachu, which subsequently evolves into Raichu.
