Metamon

Summary

Metamon appears as a light-purple or pink, blob-like entity with vestigial facial features. Though often described as amorphous, official artwork presents a consistent form featuring two small nubs on its head, soft lumps at its base, and pseudopod-like protrusions serving as arms. Its face is characterized by beady eyes and a simple mouth, usually curved into a smile. This creature possesses unique traits that distinguish it from other Pokémon, most notably the ability to transform into an exact replica of any physical object or living creature, copying both form and abilities. Each individual has specific limitations, such as being unable to maintain a transformation while laughing or producing inaccurate details if relying on memory. Trading Cards depict Metamon transforming separate body sections into parts from multiple Pokémon simultaneously. In certain episodes and spin-off games, it is shown that Metamon sometimes fails to change its face during transformation, a trait synonymous with the species despite contradicting core series depictions. While its power allows it to coexist with almost anything, it conflicts with its own kind, often attempting to transform into other Metamon in fruitless displays. It can transform into humans but cannot mimic human speech. To avoid attacks, it turns into a rock when sleeping, though it may remain transformed as a rock or Pokémon even during rest. Occasionally, a relaxed sleeping Metamon will revert to its normal state. In The Indigo Disk, Metamon Blocks serve as objectives in Blueberry Quests, where Metamon appears to transform into the rounded-edge cubes that comprise many Terarium structures.
