Purin is a spherical, pink Pokémon featuring pointed ears with black interiors, large blue eyes, and a curled tuft of fur atop its head. It possesses small, stubby arms and slightly longer feet. Its body is filled with air, allowing it to deflate completely, as seen in Pokémon Stadium, or inflate to float, a trait demonstrated in Super Smash Bros. Purin is renowned for its massive lung capacity, which surpasses that of most other Pokémon. It uses its eyes to mesmerize opponents before inflating its lungs to sing a soothing, mysterious lullaby. This melody induces sleep in listeners, and Purin can adjust its vocal wavelength to match the brain waves of deeply sleeping individuals. If an opponent resists, Purin risks its life by continuing to sing until it runs out of air or the target falls asleep. Its vocal range exceeds 12 octaves, though skill levels vary by individual. The song's character differs by region, sometimes sounding like shouting. Purin typically inhabits lush green plains and grassy meadows. Scream Tail resembles Purin and is believed to be its ancestor from one billion years ago. Notably, Purin sings even while sleeping, as noted in Pokémon Sleep.
