Continues the story of A Certain Magical Index
Located in Japan, Academy City is a futuristic metropolis that stands thirty years ahead of the rest of the world in scientific and technological progress. More than seventy-five percent of its inhabitants are students training their psychic abilities at various institutions. Touma Kamijou, a high school student, is ranked at the bottom with a level-zero ability, yet he wields a unique power named Imagine Breaker capable of neutralizing any supernatural force. Despite this extraordinary capability, Touma lives a normal life until he encounters Index Librorum Prohibitorum, a girl who has memorized every forbidden book of magic. When a dangerous group targets her, Touma vows to protect her from the magicians threatening her life, pulling him into a hidden world of the supernatural.

In A Certain Magical Index II, the escalating tension between the magical world and Academy City compels Touma Kamijou to depend on his negation ability to protect those he holds dear, battling both espers and magicians. He is supported by trusted allies and faced with new enemies, some of whom forge alliances while others lurk in the shadows, all contributing to the increasingly complex struggle. As a sequel to the action and comedy series, the story follows Touma and his companions as they face a conflict of greater magnitude. The looming threat of war becomes more pronounced, laying the groundwork for another major clash between magic and science in the battles to come.

Toaru Majutsu no Index II adapts novels 7 to 13 of Kazuma Kamachi's light novel series of the same title and the first novel of the side story series Toaru Majutsu no Index SS.
