Summary
Komaba Ritoku is a supporting character in Toaru Majutsu no Index, appearing as the initial leader of Skill Out in volumes SS1 and SS2. He shares a close friendship with Hamazura Shiage and Hattori Hanzou, and he has a younger sister who attends primary school. Physically, Komaba is described as resembling a gorilla, possessing a massive, heavy build and a large frame. He typically dresses in black attire, favoring leather jackets and pants. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is a decent individual who deeply cares for his friends and subordinates. As a true Level 0 with no esper abilities, Komaba relies on tactics and technology to combat his enemies. He was highly respected by all members of Skill Out and was known for his honor. He strictly forbade any connections to prostitution within the group, a stance that Musujime Awaki noted would have been the fastest method to gather funds without needing to rob banks. Furthermore, Komaba’s group targeted only those who actively abused their powers against Level 0s, distinguishing them from factions like Big Spider, which attacked espers indiscriminately.
