Summary

Index Librorum Prohibitorum serves as a central heroine and the titular figure of the series. A young nun belonging to Necessarius, a faction of the Church of England, she stands at a petite 148 cm and appears to be between 14 and 15 years old. Her appearance is characterized by silvery-blue hair reaching her thighs, pale skin, and large green eyes. She typically wears the Walking Church, a white robe embroidered with gold along every edge that grants her absolute protection from injury. This defense was later shattered by Touma’s right hand, forcing her to secure her uniform with golden pins. Her mind contains the 103,000 magical texts of the Index-Librorum-Prohibitorum due to an implanted photographic memory. This immense mental load is so dangerous that a single grimoire can be lethal to a normal person, leading magicians to question her humanity. To prevent mental collapse, her self-protection system, Johann's Pen, activates when she is attacked or injured. This system allows her to cast high-class magic, such as St. George's Sanctuary and Dragon's Breath, and utilizes the Feather of Light to reset her memory if manual intervention fails. Despite being unaware of her own magical capabilities, she can instantly identify spells and their counters through observation or description. Her encyclopedic knowledge makes her an invaluable asset to her friends and a target for many adversaries. She employs skills like Spell Intercept to stop enemy chants and Sheol Fear to disrupt them. Personality-wise, she is gentle and polite but easily irritated, particularly by Touma’s bad luck, which often results in her biting him.
