In "A Certain Scientific Railgun S," Mikoto Misaka and her friends investigate unsettling rumors spreading through Academy City. They uncover a grim truth: secret experiments are being conducted, killing numerous espers—clones created in Mikoto's image. Overwhelmed by guilt for their suffering, she vows to stop these experiments. However, her enemies are far more powerful than she expects, including some of the most formidable espers. This story follows the Railgun as she fights to end the inhumane experiments she believes she unintentionally set in motion, plunging her life into deep despair. Academy City is always full of excitement, but not all of it is pleasant.

Even with the powerful presence of "Tokiwadai's Ace," Mikoto Misaka, other competitors are giving their best efforts, undeterred by her formidable abilities. But the festival brings more than just excitement; as Academy City opens its doors to visitors during the event, several groups are planning covert entry into the city. With Misaka being a key figure, hidden adversaries start to reveal themselves as the festival progresses. A Certain Scientific Railgun T revisits Misaka and her companions as they uncover the sinister aspects of Academy City. From acts of terrorism to clandestine operations, the series explores the many dangers lurking within the city.
