Kihara, Amata
Summary
Amata Kihara first appeared in volume 12 of the light novels. He serves as the Commander of Hound Dog, a black operations unit that answers directly to Aleister. Because Academy City lacks an official black ops force, individual Directors often maintain their own private squads, though some prefer to establish groups like ITEM or SCHOOL. Amata is the man who discovered Accelerator and acted as his former guardian and teacher. He subjected Accelerator to abusive training and lethal experiments designed to kill him, which resulted in the deaths of other participants. These harsh conditions were intended to teach Accelerator how to properly utilize his powers. The two reunite when Hound Dog receives orders to kidnap Last Order from Accelerator. Amata proves to be a formidable adversary, managing to land repeated physical blows on Accelerator without being affected by his abilities. He understands how Accelerator’s powers function and even turns them against him.
