Following several impressive triumphs over Britannian forces, Lelouch Lamperouge has elevated the Black Knights, his rebel organization, to unprecedented levels. His superior strategic mind and the Geass ability—which forces absolute compliance—render him seemingly invincible. Nevertheless, the path to revolt is filled with obstacles that leave Lelouch exposed. In "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion III - Glorification," Lelouch Lamperouge's scheme to overthrow the Holy Britannian Empire is on the verge of crumbling. His sister Nunnally is taken captive by Schneizel el Britannia, while Suzaku Kururugi disregards his desperate calls for aid. The Black Knights begin losing trust in Lelouch's command, and the United Federation of Nations initiates a worldwide conflict against Britannia. Beset by numerous betrayals, his power diminished, and filled with rage toward Emperor Charles zi Britannia, the defeated Lelouch makes a final choice: if he cannot bring down the Empire from the outside, he will seize control from within.
