Summary
Born on November 17, Rakshata Chawla serves as the Indian scientist leading the research and development division for the Black Knights. An expert in medical cybernetics, she was formerly an academy peer of Lloyd Asplund and Cécile Croomy at the Imperial Colchester Institute, though she prefers not to discuss her past. Her demeanor is typically laid back, often found lounging on a couch installed on the bridge of the Black Knights' flagship, the Ikaruga, while she is rarely seen without her tobacco pipe. She affectionately treats her technological creations as her "children." While usually calm, she becomes visibly enraged if her work is modified without permission, as occurred when Lloyd and Cécile altered her Knightmare design. When the UFN was formed and the Black Knights reorganized as its military arm, she assumed the role of Chief of Science. Rakshata is the creator of the Guren Mk-II and its radiant wave surger weapon. She also developed the Gefjun Disturber, a force field generator that disables all sakuradite-powered technology, including Knightmares, although newer models possess countermeasures. Fifth-generation and older units remain vulnerable. The field also blocks hadrons, radio waves, and microwaves, rendering targets invisible to radar and aiding the blooming of hadron-based beam weaponry. It is named after the Norse goddess of chastity, Gefjun.
