Since moving into the Tendou household, Ranma Saotome's daily existence has been nothing short of chaotic. Despite his curse—turning into a girl when splashed with cold water—he presses on with rigorous martial arts training and meets a steady stream of new people. Over time, his relationship with fiancée Akane Tendou has grown warmer, even though it began on a sour note and they still bicker constantly. But their engagement faces obstacles from many directions. Shampoo, a determined young woman from China, is set on marrying Ranma, and various men who are smitten with Akane also try to trip him up at every opportunity. In the midst of all this madness, Ranma remains unshaken, tackling every challenge head-on as he navigates his turbulent life.
