Summary

During training with Genma at Jusenkyo in China, Ranma was accidentally thrown into the cursed spring known as Nyanniichuan. This incident bound him to a peculiar curse: he transforms into a young girl, but splashing him with hot water reverts him to his male form, while cold or room-temperature water triggers the transformation back into a girl. This physically fit sixteen-year-old protagonist dedicates his life to martial arts and harbors an easily bruised ego, convinced that his physical prowess is his sole redeeming quality. Consequently, whenever his pride is challenged, he feels compelled to restore his honor, often acting against his own best interests to do so.
