Tendou, Souun

Summary

As the patriarch of the Tendou family and one of the two practitioners of Anything Goes Martial Arts, Souun is a widower who single-handedly raises his three daughters. Their large home, which serves as his dojo, often requires repairs due to frequent conflicts, though student enrollment remains unconfirmed. He occasionally assists the community with unusual phenomena and rents out the dojo for social gatherings, yet he is notoriously frugal, becoming distressed when Nabiki spends his savings on gifts or when Ranma creates a mess. In the anime, he frequently plays Shogi with Genma and is obsessed with seeing his daughter and Ranma confess their love to secure the school’s legacy, often announcing wedding plans if the couple appears close. He tends to blame Ranma for most incidents and is fiercely protective of his children, growing sad if their affection is questioned. When upset, he can manifest as a floating oni head, often crying out "Oh, the humanity!" Despite Miss Hinako’s attraction to him, Souun remains loyal to his deceased wife and regularly visits her grave.
