Synopsis
Ichigo Kurosaki's ordinary high school existence is shattered when a Hollow, a spirit that devours souls, attacks his family. During the assault, he encounters Rukia Kuchiki, a Shinigami who is injured while protecting Ichigo's relatives. To protect those he cares about, Ichigo accepts Rukia's powers, becoming a Shinigami himself. With Rukia unable to fight, Ichigo takes on the dangerous task of eliminating the Hollows haunting their town. He is joined by his friends and classmates—Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryuu Ishida—each bringing their own unique abilities to the struggle. As Ichigo and his allies adjust to their new responsibilities, balancing battles with everyday life, he discovers that Hollows are only the first of many threats to the human world.
