Cifer, Ulquiorra

Summary

Ulquiorra is a melancholic male Arrancar who holds the rank of the Fourth Espada. Born on December 1 under the Sagittarius sign, he stands 169 cm tall and weighs 55 kg. He possesses a highly analytical mind, evident when he observes humans during his initial visit to the human world alongside Yammy. He theorizes that Orihime Inoue’s healing ability is a temporal-spatial power that rejects fate, while noting that Ichigo Kurosaki’s final release can bypass Yammy’s defenses. He also tracks Ichigo’s fluctuating power levels, which range from weak to surpassing his own. Ulquiorra has a strained relationship with the Sixth Espada, Grimmjow. Although Ulquiorra permitted Yammy to kill anyone considered trash, he spared Ichigo, believing the boy’s turbulent power would lead to self-destruction. Grimmjow disagreed, arguing Ichigo should have been eliminated immediately as he could grow stronger. Aizen sided with Ulquiorra, a decision that triggered Grimmjow’s unauthorized assault on the real world. Despite Ulquiorra’s higher rank, Grimmjow is confident that Ulquiorra fears fighting him due to the risk of mutual destruction. His zanpakutou, Murciélago, means giant black-winged demon in Japanese and bat in Spanish. Upon release, large black wings emerge from his back, his helmet features prominent horns, and his uniform becomes form-fitting at the top and robe-like at the bottom. Ulquiorra is unique among the Espada for possessing a second release, Resurrección Segunda Etapa. In this form, he becomes more muscular with clawed limbs, black eyes, and elongated horns. He loses his clothes, gaining black fur from the hips down and a long thin tail. In both forms, he can create energy lances called Lanza del Relámpago, which explode upon impact. He initially struggles with this technique in his second form, missing Ichigo on the first attempt, but can generate additional lances to compensate. His theme song is "Moonshield" by In Flames.
