Summary
Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez is a male Arrancar who serves as the sixth-ranked member of Sōsuke Aizen’s Espada. Born on July 31st under the Leo sign, he stands 186 cm tall and weighs 80 kg. His hollow hole is located in his abdomen, and a crooked number 6 is tattooed on his back just above and to the right of this wound, marking his status among the ten most powerful Arrancar. Visually, Grimmjow features light blue hair and distinctive blue or green lines beneath his eyes, resembling the markings on Ikkaku Madarame. His attire includes a white hakama, a black sash, and an open, ragged white jacket with an upturned collar and black inner lining, which leaves his chest exposed. The remnants of his hollow mask cling to his right cheek, while his original chest wound has shifted to his stomach. Despite a laid-back and irreverent demeanor, Grimmjow possesses an impulsive, violently short temper and a sadistic streak, often displaying an insane grin during combat akin to Kenpachi Zaraki. He is blunt, rude, and disregards authority, speaking his mind regardless of appropriateness. This attitude provokes conflicts with Kaname Tōsen, who shares Grimmjow’s low opinion of Zaraki, as well as with Ulquiorra Schiffer, the fourth Espada, due to interruptions in his fights or Ulquiorra’s lack of impulse. Grimmjow also harbors a grudge against Ichigo Kurosaki for wounding him in their second encounter, keeping the large scar from their first battle as a reminder. As the sixth Espada, Grimmjow is the first to be revealed in the series. After Kaname Tōsen cuts off and burns his arm, he is demoted and replaced by Luppi. Following his healing by Orihime Inoue, Grimmjow kills Luppi by impaling him with his restored arm and vaporizing his torso with a cero blast to reclaim his rank. His zanpakutō, Pantera, transforms him upon release, granting feline traits such as jagged teeth, ears, clawed limbs, and a whip-like tail. This state enhances his speed and agility, allowing him to create shockwaves with his roar, fire destructive darts from his elbows, and manifest energy claws known as Desgarrón from his fingertips. His design echoes Gamma Akutabi from Tite Kubo’s earlier manga Zombie Powder, sharing the bone-like jaw structure and missing arm, though Gamma uses mechanical prosthetics. Their volume covers also feature identical poses.
