In the distant future, on an unremarkable planet, humans have been fighting a long war against mechanical aristocrats called Hyperion. The story follows Drossel, a Hyperion and the daughter of Duke von Flügel, along with her butler Gedächtnis, as they live in the Tower of Tempest, isolated from the rest of the world.
