Mobile Suit Gundam I

Synopsis

In the year Universal Century 0079, Earth is home to over 90 million people, but many have been compelled to reside in space. Life now takes place in immense cylinder-shaped colony clusters known as Sides, all under the authority of the "Earth Federation Space Force" (E.F.S.F.). During this era, a set of colonies called Side 3, positioned near the far side of the moon, declared their independence from the Earth Federation, renaming themselves the "Principality of Zeon." Eight months into the conflict, neither side shows signs of surrender. The war remains locked in a deadlock. As a final measure, the Federation endeavors to develop a new, more formidable fighting force to counter the Zeon armies. They construct the White Base and a potent Mobile Suit designated the "Gundam." Still, these machines are operated by young pilots.
