Summary

Char Aznable, born Casval Rem Deikun on November 17, 0059 (U.C.), is a Newtype who stands 175 cm tall during the One Year War and grows to 180 cm by Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Hailing from Side 3, he began his career as a Lieutenant Commander and ace Mobile Suit Pilot for the Principality of Zeon. Known for his devastating speed and piloting a red Zaku II, he earned the ominous moniker "Red Comet" after single-handedly destroying five Federation Salamis-class ships during the Battle of Loum. His true motivation was vengeance against the Zabi family for assassinating his father, Zeon Zum Deikun, the original founder of Zeon. Throughout the One Year War in U.C. 0079, Char shadowed the White Base crew, engaging in legendary duels with Amuro Ray. His allegiances shifted over time, leading him to lead Axis Zeon, command the Anti Earth Union Group "AEUG" as a Lieutenant during the Gryps Conflict, and finally serve as Supreme Leader and Captain of Neo Zeon. His vast arsenal included various customized Mobile Suits such as the Zaku II Commander Type, Rick Dom Char Custom, Gelgoog Commander Type, Hyaku Shiki, and the formidable Sazabi. He is the son of Zeon Zum Deikun and Astraia Tor Deikun, with Sayla Mass as his sister and Don Teabolo Mass as his foster father.
