Synopsis

Continues the story of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ

In the Universal Century 0088, the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) secures a hard-won victory against the Earth Federation's Titans, but Neo-Zeon—formerly Axis Zeon—remains a grave threat under Newtype leader Haman Karn, who plans to dominate Earth and the space colonies. The AEUG flagship Argama docks at Side 1's Shangri-La colony for repairs, where fourteen-year-old scrap dealer Judau Ashta works to support his younger sister's schooling. After discovering an escape pod holding an ex-Titans pilot, Judau and his friends hatch a scheme to steal a mobile suit from the Argama for a substantial payoff. Their plan is interrupted when a Neo-Zeon vessel attacks the Argama, dragging Judau and his companions into the escalating space war against their will.

In Universal Century 0093, Char Aznable, commanding the space rebel group Neo Zeon, promotes the idea of humanity relocating to space in order to secure peace. To advance this cause, he intends to send the immense asteroid Axis colliding into Earth, creating a catastrophic winter that would make the planet impossible to live on. This aggressive scheme also lets him address a personal conflict with Amuro Ray, which began with a comrade's death during the One Year War, even though they have sometimes fought on the same side. The Earth Federation's Londo Bell unit is the only group capable of stopping Char's plan. Led by seasoned Captain Bright Noa, and with Amuro Ray piloting the sophisticated Nu Gundam, Londo Bell launches an operation to safeguard Earth. As the original Gundam story heads toward its climactic finale, the decisive battle between Londo Bell and Neo Zeon determines the planet's future and concludes the bitter feud between Char and Amuro.
