Kidou Senshi Gundam

In UC 0079, the Principality of Zeon breaks away from the Earth Federation, igniting a war that spreads across Earth's continents and space colonies. Zeon's advanced mobile suits give them a major advantage in combat. When a Zeon unit disobeys orders and launches a rogue reconnaissance mission, Side 7 comes under attack, revealing the Federation's hidden weapon, the Gundam. This incident forces the civilians of Side 7 to band together with Earth Federation soldiers on the mobile suit carrier White Base, creating an improvised crew resolved to shape the fate of the One Year War—or die attempting.

Background

Kidou Senshi Gundam was first published in English by Del Ray Books in 1990. Due to a lack of official romanizations, a number of names were translated phonetically (e.g. "Char" as "Sha", "Zaku" as "Zaks"). A revised edition, which updated these romanizations, was published in a single omnibus by Stone Bridge Press on April 1, 2004.
