Synopsis

In a conflict that has spanned over 150 years, two interstellar powers vie for control of the Milky Way. The Galactic Empire, under Kaiser Friedrich IV and a rigid aristocracy, seeks to suppress all opposition to its divine authority. Meanwhile, the Free Planets Alliance, a democratic state controlled by a corrupt High Council, is in decline as its leaders exploit warfare for political gain. The stalemate between these two factions is broken by the rise of two brilliant military strategists. Reinhard von Lohengramm, a minor noble who became High Admiral of the Empire through his exceptional strategic skill and the influence of his sister—the Kaiser's favorite concubine—dreams of uniting humanity under his command. On the other side, Yang Wen-li from the Alliance, a history enthusiast and reluctant commodore known as the Hero of El Facil, uses his tactical brilliance to counter his superiors' incompetence and seeks a lasting peace.
