Summary
Appleton served as a vice admiral within the Alliance, commanding the 8th Fleet aboard his flagship, the Krishna. In the Battle of Wansteidt, he led his fleet in a successful disengagement from the Mecklinger Fleet, though the maneuver resulted in 30% losses for the 8th Fleet. Later, during the Battle of Amritsar, the Krishna suffered a fatal hit and began to fall toward the Amritsar star, resulting in Appleton going down with his ship.
