Synopsis
In 2015, over a decade has passed since the devastating Second Impact nearly brought human civilization to its end. In the aftermath, a small group uncovers the presence of the Angels—massive, hostile beings determined to trigger the Third Impact and finish off the remnants of humanity. Shinji Ikari, a young boy, is summoned to Tokyo-3 by his father, Gendou Ikari, to join the fight against these Angels. His connection with Gendou has been tense since his mother's death, and Shinji hopes to repair their damaged relationship. But when he arrives, he discovers he was called to pilot Evangelion Unit-01, a giant machine built to confront the Angels. As he battles one Angel after another, Shinji gets pulled into a scheme that could determine the fate of all mankind.
