Summary

Shinji Ikari is the Fourteen-year-old Third Child who pilots Evangelion Unit 01. He is the son of Gendo Ikari and the late Yui Ikari. After being abandoned by his father during his toddler years, Shinji frequently avoided confronting difficult situations. As a pilot, he is prone to panic and struggles to handle unexpected events. However, with Misato Katsuragi’s encouragement, he gradually becomes less cowardly, more outspoken, and more confident over time.
