Summary

Misato Katsuragi is a twenty-nine-year-old woman born on December 8, 1986, with an AO genotype blood type A and a height of 163 cm. Serving as the chief operations officer at NERV, she holds the rank of Major after being promoted from Captain. In this role, she acts as the field commander for the Eva pilots, directing their operations and formulating battle strategies. Beyond her professional duties, she serves as the legal guardian for Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley Soryu, allowing them to reside in her apartment so they are not left living alone. Her household also includes a pet named Pen Pen. Misato’s life is defined by her status as the sole survivor of the Katsuragi Expedition, a scientific study led by her father that inadvertently triggered the Second Impact. She carries a cross pendant that her father gave her just before he died, a token that remains with her to this day. While she is diligent and professional in her work, she is known to be a slob and a heavy drinker during her off-duty hours. Her personal life involves a complex history with Ryoji Kaji, a former lover from her college days with whom she slowly rekindles her romance throughout the series.
