Summary

Touji Suzuhara is a fourteen-year-old boy born on December 26, 2001, who fits the mold of a tough jock. He shares a sibling relationship with his younger sister, Sakura Suzuhara. Initially, Touji is frequently at odds with Asuka, but his attitude shifts after a violent incident where he attacks Shinji for being indirectly responsible for Sakura’s injuries during the conflict between the third Angel, Sachiel, and Unit 01. However, after witnessing the physical toll piloting Unit 01 takes on Shinji during the battle against Shamshel, Touji’s perspective changes. He develops a respect for Shinji, and the two eventually forge a friendship. The character’s name is derived from a protagonist in the novel Ai to Gensou no Fascism by Ryuu Murakami.
