Ikari, Gendou

Summary

Formerly known as Gendou Rokubungi, Gendou Ikari serves as the Commander of NERV, where he oversees the research and development of Project E and the Human Instrumentality Project. He is the father of Shinji Ikari, the Third Child who pilots Evangelion Unit-01. Additionally, Ikari acts as the guardian of Rei Ayanami, the First Child and pilot of Evangelion Unit-00. Rei is the only individual who reliably interacts with Ikari during the early stages of the series.
