Since then, Ouri has been training to become a proper monk so he can maintain his contract with Makina and help her fight the Shichisei—the ones who originally murdered Makina, wiped out the entire Hoshimura family, and now have taken Keisei as well. However, the treacherous monk Shishidou Akasha has allied himself with the Shichisei in a plot to destroy all Shikabane Hime and the entire monk organization that uses them—the Kougon Sect.

After the battle for Touka Village and the removal of the bandits from the area, Unchou Kan'u, Chouhi Yokutoku, and Shokatsuryou Koumei get ready for the next leg of their journey. They come across an unexpected individual—a young woman who says she is Gentoku Ryuubi! Having been framed for multiple crimes, Ryuubi is on a quest to recover her family's treasured sword, the Chuuzan Seiou, and to prove that she is not responsible for the evil deeds she has been accused of. For Ryuubi's protection, the four girls band together and chase the sword as it is passed from person to person, but they always seem to be just a step behind its current holder. Along the way, Kan'u and the others meet several familiar characters who gladly offer their help in the search. Meanwhile, Kan'u and Chouhi continue to discover that family is about more than just blood ties.

Souten Kouro's narrative is loosely based on events from China's Three Kingdoms era during the life of the Eastern Han Dynasty's last Chancellor, Cao Cao (155 – March 15, 220), who also acts as the main protagonist. The Three Kingdoms period has been a recurring subject in Japanese manga for decades, but Souten Kouro stands apart from most others in several ways. One major difference is its strongly favorable depiction of its central character, Cao Cao, who is traditionally cast as the villain not only in Japanese manga but also in most novel adaptations of the Three Kingdoms era, including the original 14th-century version, Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong. Another key distinction is that the storyline primarily draws from the historical chronicle of the period, Records of Three Kingdoms by Chen Shou, rather than the aforementioned Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel. As a result, the traditional hero of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Liu Bei, holds comparatively less significance in the story and is shown in a less favorable light. Still, several elements of the tale are actually derived from the novel, such as the inclusion of its original characters like Diao Chan, as well as anachronistic weapons like Guan Yu's Green Dragon Crescent Blade and Zhang Fei's Viper Blade. A recurring theme throughout the story is Cao Cao's constant desire to free China and its people from outdated systems and mindsets, promoting a focus on pragmatism rather than hollow ideals. This frequently puts him at odds with the prevailing Confucian customs and beliefs, as well as those who uphold them.

Love Momozono is a 14-year-old student at Yotsuba Junior Highschool who prioritizes the needs of others over her own well-being. After attending a performance by the renowned dance group "Trinity," she resolves to pursue dancing herself. During the same event, agents from the Labyrinth Kingdom appear to harvest the audience's misery. Love acquires the ability to transform into Cure Peach to battle these foes. She is soon assisted by her close friends Miki, who becomes Cure Berry, and Inori, who transforms into Cure Pine.

A quarter-century after Éclair and Lumière saved the galaxy from imminent destruction, the GTO (Galactic Trade Organization)—established following the defeat of the GOTT (Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs)—works to maintain universal peace by fighting crime. Modeled after the GOTT's ES (Encounter of Shadow-work) force, the GTO's own special ES division now publicly acknowledges its candidate members. The story follows two trainees, Ascoeur and Q-feuille, as they strive to earn full ES membership.

The narrative follows the members of a private military company (PMC) and the tense relationship they have with the regular military after a war that led to extensive environmental damage.

The Examurai Sengoku anime series portrays members of the EXILE group as futuristic samurai who are sent back to Japan’s Sengoku period. The character designs for the EXILE members were created by manga artist Hiroshi Takahashi, known for Crows and Worst.
