Synopsis

In Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Edward and Alphonse Elric's lives are forever changed when a failed alchemy experiment meant to bring back their dead mother goes wrong. By breaking the forbidden rule against human transmutation, the brothers suffer terrible consequences: Alphonse loses his entire physical body, while Edward gives up one of his limbs to keep his brother's soul bound to a suit of armor. The Elric brothers find shelter with their neighbor, Pinako Rockbell, and her granddaughter, Winry, a skilled mechanic who builds automail—advanced robotic limbs—for Edward. After intense training, the brothers start a dangerous quest to get their bodies back by using the legendary Philosopher's Stone, which can break the law of equivalent exchange. As Edward becomes known as a powerful alchemist and earns the title "Fullmetal," their search pulls them into a vast conspiracy that could determine the fate of their world.
