Synopsis
In Shanghai, China, Japanese photographer Oosawa Maria works alongside her partner Mino to find stories worth reporting in the city. While covering a local festival, they notice strange events happening and choose to look into them. The pair gets caught up in a conflict between mysterious people wearing masks and an unusual woman with white hair. As the situation grows more dangerous, Maria almost gets hurt until her old friend Canaan steps in and saves her. But a dangerous plan involving a deadly virus comes to light, forcing Canaan to face her past so she can stop the one behind it and protect the people she cares about.
Background
Canaan is the sequel to the Canaan scenario created by Kinoko Nasu and Takashi Takeuchi that is unlocked in the visual novel video game 428: Shibuya Scramble. The scenario features Canaan, Alphard Alshaya, and Maria Oosawa, and takes place 2 years before 428: Shibuya Scramble while the anime takes place 2 years after.
