Synopsis
Driven to extinction's edge by the "Aragami"—a species of all-consuming monsters—humanity makes its final stand within isolated pockets of resistance. Conventional weapons cannot harm these creatures; only "Oracle Cell" arms, crafted from the same substance that forms Aragami, are capable of killing them. Yet the Aragami develop further immunity, thanks to their godlike capacity for adaptation. With no other hope left to repel the enemy, the remnants of human governments decide to trigger a nuclear reactor explosion, wiping out the monsters threatening Eurasia. The soldiers assigned to this mission are supported by three "God Eaters" sent from the Fenrir Far East Branch, the organization that governs what remains of Japan. Their cutting-edge weapons, known as God Arcs, are said to be able to pierce Aragami hide and tear out their cores, annihilating the monsters. These mighty warriors may be humanity's last chance to hold off the Aragami menace and avert total annihilation.
